How to store cannabis buds ?

How to keep cannabis buds tasting good even after several years?

There is virtually no scientifically validated evidence on the most optimal temperatures, humidity levels and storage methods for hemp buds.

Propably, the best way to store cannabis buds is in an airtight glass container, in a dark place, at temperatures between 15-21 degrees Celsius and a humidity of 62%

What containers should I use for storing ganja?

Glass container with airtight cap

When it comes to storing cannabis, airtight containers with non-porous solid glass are ideal for preserving the aroma and flavour while preventing damage to your delicate flowers during storage. Equally important is choosing the right size jar. Remember, too much air is harmful. Create a perfect seal, or you may even consider purchasing an affordable vacuum sealer to remove even more air. Exposure to light is also not good, so store the jar in a dark place to keep your doughnuts fresh longer.

Opaque or dark glass containers

You can buy glass containers made of coloured or opaque glass, or you can make your own by taping the outside of the container with black opaque tape. Preventing exposure to light and temperature is key to maintaining the freshness of your cannabis.

How long does ganja stay fresh?

Well-stored marijuana can last for several months to a couple of years. But if you want to make sure that the potency and quality of the marijuana won’t change after a good fermentation, don’t hesitate to place the jars in the freezer, where they will last for several years without a single change.

Is it a good idea to store cannabis in the freezer?

If the marijuana has already been dried and fermented for at least 4 weeks, you can place it directly in the freezer. As in the previous point, store the cannabis in airtight jars and put them in the freezer. It’s important to make sure that the jars are really airtight as if they aren’t, the frost will continue to dry out your cannabis and after months of storage you’ll have nothing but dried out remnants of not very strong smelling buds. You also need to remember to be very careful when handling cannabis from the freezer as frozen trichomes tend to break off easily, which can reduce the potency of the cannabis.

  1. I, for example, use such pads for storing cannabis that can keep the required humidity. Unfortunately I can’t remember what they are called now and I don’t want to look it up 😀
